Cake Care All Eden Cake desserts taste best when served at room temperature, which allows the true flavors to come through and not be masked by the cold. Because we don’t use any preservatives, we recommend that our desserts be stored properly to maintain freshness, which means proper refrigeration. All desserts, with the exception of cookies, biscotti and brittle, should be stored in the refrigerator in their tightly closed cake boxes (or other airtight container) if not to be served within 2 hours of pick up. This is especially true of desserts containing mousse, custard and pastry cream (Chocolate Covered Banana Cake, Chocolate Mousse Strata, Coconut Cloud Cake and Coconut Custard Tart, Chocolate Raspberry Torte, and Trifles). Before serving, allow desserts to come to room temperature by removing them from the refrigerator approximately 2 hours beforehand. Freshness on cut cakes is best maintained by placing plastic wrap against the exposed cake before refrigerating. Cookies, biscotti and brittle are best stored in airtight containers at room temperature.
