Frequently Asked Questions How much notice is required when ordering? Five to seven days in advance of pick up date is preferred, with additional notice recommended during busier holiday seasons. We will try to accommodate last minute orders whenever possible.
Do your products contain nuts? We do use peanuts and a variety
of tree nuts in some of our recipes. Those desserts which are not made
with nuts have been marked with the “nut free” symbol
Do you deliver? While most clients pick up their desserts by appointment, local delivery within the Washington, D.C. Metro Area is available for corporate clients for a fee. Additional notice is required for delivery.
Do you do custom work? Special client requests may be possible with enough advance notice.
Do you make wedding cakes? At this time we are not making wedding cakes.
What forms of payment do you accept? We accept cash and checks (made out to Eden Cake). Payment is due upon pick up of your dessert order. For larger orders exceeding $500, one-half of the order amount is due upon acceptance of the order, and the balance upon receipt of the desserts.
What type of events do you provide desserts for? We offer something to suit every palette and every occasion, from fresh cookies waiting for your children as they come home from school, to the most elegant dessert buffet and all occasions in between: Shabbat dinners, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, parties and get-togethers of all kinds.
How do you make your pareve desserts taste so good? Through years of recipe development and experience with pareve desserts we have created processes and use ingredients which equal the quality and taste of dairy desserts. The trick is also in knowing what type of desserts have the greatest potential for success as pareve desserts.
How many cakes or desserts do I need to order for my party/dinner/event? Determining the number of desserts needed for your event depends on a variety of factors (e.g. type of event, time of day, number of guests, etc.). Please contact Rachelle Ferneau directly for personal assistance with the planning of a well-balanced custom dessert menu for your special event.
Will you ship outside the Washington, D.C. area? Our facility is not equipped to handle shipping at this time.
Do you have cakes available for “walk-in” customers? Since all of Eden Cake’s products are freshly made to order to ensure the utmost in quality, they must be ordered in advance.
Does Eden Cake make shaped, themed or sheet cakes? No, the cakes we make are described on our Menu Page. Inscriptions are available on most layer cakes at no additional cost. For cakes to be enjoyed over Shabbat or Yom Tov, the inscription is written on a decorative piece of chocolate for easy removal before cutting the cake.
What is the best way to store and serve my desserts? Please refer to the section called "Cake Care".

important to remember that all of Eden Cake products are produced on
equipment that comes in contact with nuts, soy, wheat and eggs, and
depending on the level of sensitivity to these allergens, our products
may not be safe for a particular individual’s needs. However, we will
make every effort to ensure that any dessert is not exposed to nuts
during the production process for those clients with nut allergies.
Please make sure to specify this when ordering. In addition, we can
